See Our MenuBean Theory started in 2019 when founder Maya Chen left her design career, loaded a hand-grinder and a secondhand espresso machine into her car, and set up a stall at the LA farmer's market every Sunday. No investors, no business plan — just a deep obsession with single-origin beans and the belief that a truly great cup of coffee could change someone's entire morning.
Word spread fast enough that by 2021 we'd outgrown the market and found our permanent home right here on Beverly Drive. The space was designed to feel less like a café and more like the warmest room in a friend's house — somewhere you actually want to linger.
Every bean is sourced directly from small family farms, roasted in small batches, and pulled by people who genuinely care about what ends up in your cup. That standard hasn't changed since day one, and it never will.
